Bright weeks

Bright Week. Entire week, fast-free.

There are five Bright weeks:

• Nativity to Eve of Theophany – from Thursday, 7th of January to Friday, 17th of January
• The week following the Sunday of the Publican and Pharisee – from Sunday, 9th of February to Saturday, 15th of February
• Maslenitsa, the entire week. Meat is excluded – from Monday, 24th of February to Sunday, 1st of March
• Bright Week (the week after Pascha) – from Sunday,19th of April to Saturday, 25th of April
• Trinity Week — the week after Pentecost, ending with All Saints Sunday. – from Sunday, 7th of June to Saturday, 13th of June
